Participating member agencies will connect with CREATE student teams to collaborate in the development of assistive technology devices. They will help students assess operations and look for opportunities to customize work processes. NYSID members will provide insight to technology that is relevant and responsive to workforce needs to ensure devices built meet the workforce needs of individuals with disabilities. Student teams will visit and work directly with the NYSID member. If the NYSID member is not in the area, students may consult through a series of phone and e-mail discussions.
If a NYSID member agency is interested in participating in CREATE for the 2017-2018 school year, they should contact an engineering professor at a university, community college or a high school engineering teacher. If the educator is interested in participating in CREATE, someone from NYSID will meet with both the NYSID member agency and the educator.
